A night at a tavern turned into a bloodbath and the case is now left in the court’s hands to decide on a verdict.
“We were at a tavern and a pushing fight started between me and one of the accused. The other accused went outside to call friends. I decided to go back to my table to avoid a fight and that is when I was attacked from behind. I was stabbed with a sharp object and my friends saw that the three accused had weapons in their hands. They ran away and I was the only person involved in the fight,” the victim stated in court on Monday June 13.
He also stated that he had no weapons in his possession the night of the stabbing and that the four accused got injured while he was trying to protect himself. According to the state prosecutor, the victim was the aggressor as stated by the other victims.
“I do not know why they would say that. They came to me with weapons and they threatened my family. This happened after I intervened in a fight the previous day and they said that I was responsible for one of the accused to get injured. My mom and sister went to the police and after the police got involved, they threatened to kill me,” the victim said further.
He added that his injuries affected his work as he had to be taken from his workplace. He also said that his lower back was injured as well as the middle finger of his left hand.
“I was protecting myself during the fight. I did not start anything and I think that the fight was planned,” the victim added.
Technical aspects like lighting in the tavern was also mentioned and the victim compared it to similar bright lighting as in Court A.
