
Vosman police recently reported that they are investigating cases of hijacking.
They reported that on Thursday, Septmeber 8 at about 20:50, Thabiso Goodman Sekwili (22) was at KwaGuqa in Hlalanikahle Extension 4 (Phase 4) on the street. He was robbed of his car, a Toyota Stationwagon Registration HSG 690 EC, the vehicle was then circulated and it is valued at R140 000.
The complainant alleged that he was with his girlfriend driving at the above mentioned address when they were approached by four unknown men. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victims and ordered them to the back seat. The suspects drove with them until they dropped them along the way after which they drove away with the stationwagon.
On the same date, it was reported that in KwaGuqa in Extension 12 a Toyota Hilux bakkie was hijacked, registration FPX 652 MP white in colour.
In Vosman at Extension 17 the same method was used to hijack a white Ford Ranger registration HHD 152 MP.
According to the police the the total hi-jacking cases were reported consecutively on September, 6, 7 and 8 and the two of them were taken from the driveway at their home from 19:00 to 21:30.
“The following aspects should be cosidered for prevention; the front view should be well lit, no obstacles should be in the way to view the front gate to your home. Only drive in the evening when neccesary and remove all valuable items from public view. Try to change your daily routine and time of your comings and goings. Inform people where you are. Be conversant with 112 emmergency reporting on your cellphone, be safe, save others,” Capatin Klaas Maloka Vosman Police Station communication officer communicated.
