“May God Bless your retirement”

She mentioned that these officers are true examples of the men and women who go to work everyday and face the worst situations for years and years

Beautifully decorated, the stretch tent accommodated some members from the Witbank Police Service for a farewell function for their two policemen going on pension. This happened on Tuesday, February 14, the two officers retiring have a total of 64 years of service between the two of them.


Capt Francois Bezuidenhout’s farewell was on Tuesday, February 14 at the Witbank Police Station. He has a total of 29 years service in the police.

Retirement marks the end of working for someone else and the beginning of living for yourself. It also affords one the opportunity to spend time with your family who stood by you throughout your career.

Two police officers that are leaving the station are Capt Obed Mange and Capt Francois Bezuidenhout. Capt Mange (60) started his career in the police on July 30 1981. He has a total of 35 years and 196 days of service while Capt Bezuidenhout started his career on December 15 1987. The 54-year-old was unfortunately declared medically unfit to continue his career on December 31 2016.

He has a total of 29 years and 58 days of service in the police.
Station Commander, Brig Delisiwe Motha gave a speech about the departure of these two men but first wished everyone a happy Valentines Day.

“Let me say you all look beautiful in red especially the ladies. The world says love is about how someone makes them feel or how they feel about someone else, but God says love is about how you behave and treat others.”


Capt Obed Mange has a total of 35 years of service. He was bided farewell on Tuesday, February 14 at the Witbank Police Station.

She mentioned that these officers are true examples of the men and women who go to work everyday and face the worst situations for years and years therefore the experience and knowledge of these two officers can not be bought with any money in the world.

“We as the police of eMalahleni and South Africa as a whole are losing two legends. This could be the end of your careers but the beginning of a new experience of rest and adventure that is well deserved.”

Brig Motha closed it off by saying she thanks the spouses, children, family and friends who supported the officers throughout the years.

“May our Heavenly Father protect and Bless you on your retirement.”
