KPM Academy footballers claim spotlight with definitive U13 tournament win in Masakhane
Witbank Stars finish as runners-up after an exciting day of youth football at Bushu Ground.
KPM Academy has earned the ultimate title in the KPM Foundation Under-13 Tournament, held on August 29 in Masakhane.
The young players claimed the victory with a 3-0 win over Witbank Stars in the final.
The tournament, hosted by the KPM Foundation, provides a vital platform for young players to display their talent, sharpen their skills and gain valuable match experience, all while enjoying the spirit of competitive youth football.
Organisers praise team commitment
In a statement, the foundation extended appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the day: “We would like to thank every team, player, coach, manager, parent and supporter who participated in and contributed to the success of the tournament.”
Special recognition was given to team managers for their patience after the tournament had to be postponed.
“Despite the challenges experienced, all participating teams remained committed to the tournament. Your co-operation and professionalism were greatly appreciated and contributed to the successful completion of the event,” the statement added.

Dominant route to title
The competition delivered exciting football from start to finish. KPM Academy impressed with a 6-0 semi-final win over Inter Milan before sealing their championship triumph in the final.
Witbank Stars finished as runners-up, while Black Stars secured third place after a penalty shoot-out victory against Inter Milan.
It was all ‘glow’ at the Laerskool Klipfontein Glow Run, as hundreds hit the finish line.
