Cattle caught in the act

Cattle roaming in Ben Fleur had residents in the area look and look again.

Cattle roaming in Ben Fleur had residents in the area look and look again.

These cattle were seen earlier this week as they enjoyed ‘lunch’ out of garbage bags.

After photos were posted on Facebook, Mr Hermann Jacques Keyser commented,

“They come from a plot in Eland Street and we are looking for the owner as most of them are not inoculated or dipped as we’ve found yellow ticks all over the plot. I live on one of the plots and we’ve had these cattle daily and on a weekly basis we’ve had to bury three dogs due to tick bite fever.”

Cattle are now grazing from garbage bags.

The SPCA said they received complaints this past weekend and already contacted the owner of the cattle to keep his animals at bay.

They said they also spoke to the relevant people at the municipality and are hopeful that this issue will be resolved soon.

There was no comment from the municipality about the implementation of their bylaws at the time of going to press.
