Pilot and passenger of helicopter crash named

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is still busy with the investigation of the helicopter crash that claimed the life of a pilot and his passengers.

The accident happened on Wednesday, February 28 at 11:30.

Mr Bertie Truter (56) and his employee Mr Oupa Pieter Ntuli (36) of the farm Truter farming near Arbor area in Ogies.

Mother of two dies in car crash

They were flying in a Robinson R44 helicopter over the farm.

According to witnesses, the tail of the helicopter broke completely off sending the chopper into a spin. The helicopter fell in the field bursting into flames.

Both the pilot and passenger died.
