
Three women were raped on the same day in different places. In one case a woman was raped by two men in the bushes.
The 27-year-old woman was travelling in Price Street on Sunday, February 25. She noticed that a Toyota Conquest was following her and wanted to bump her car. She then drove to the side of the road and she lost control of her vehicle. She drove back on the road and the Toyota continued to follow her.
The Toyota bumped her vehicle and she stopped. Two men approached her and allegedly touched her, asking if she is okay. The suspects ordered her not to look at them as they got inside her vehicle. The three of them got into her car and drove off. The men asked for money of which the woman said she did not have. The two suspects asked each other what to do with the woman.
They took her scarf and covered her face with it. One of the suspects suggested they take the woman to the veldt. When they arrived at the bushes, she was threatened with a firearm and the two men took turns in raping her. After that they drove back to the Central Business District and got into their Toyota and drove off. The woman did not manage to get the registration number of the Toyota.

Three rape suspects remain in jail
The second rape case happened at Klipfontein at 01:10. The woman was coming from a tavern going to her boyfriends place. She was raped by a man that is a regular at the tavern. That morning, the man followed her, repeatedly telling her, he loves her. The woman responded by saying she does not love him. At that moment the woman was strangled and grabbed by the throat. When this was happening she screamed for help. The man took her to his place and raped her.
Witbank Police spokesperson, Capt Eddie Hall provided hints on how to be safe on a night out. Walk in groups, it is safer, as when you are alone you look vulnerable; Scream, yell, blow your whistle (own one) or run away if you possibly can; Do not leave a party or social event with someone you do not know or have just met.
The third case happened in the early hours of the morning at Highveld Park. The 33-year-old woman was raped as she was sleeping. The woman alleged that when she woke up she noticed that someone she knew was in her bed. When she tried to get out of the bed she felt pain in her anus. That is when it dawned on her that she might have been raped.
