Thando Soko is one of the semi-finalists for Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa 2018.
This beauty pageant gives women the opportunity to be the country’s ambassador, on a global scale.
The competition is about highlighting the positive role of married women in South African society; make a difference in their lives as well as those around them who embrace the values of marriage within all their diverse cultures.
This is Thando’s very first pageant and she is in the Top 100.
The 26-year-old believes she was made for this.
“How I found out about this specific competition is I was searching for pageants I could enter and I chose this one.”
Castings were done on March 2 by judges and that is how she became a semi-finalist.
“This is more than a beauty pageant so I have already started with the hard work. My main focus will be on women empowerment and the youth.”
As part of the competition Thando has to do charity work in the ‘Women4Women South Africa’ programme.
This project assists women in business or females that want to be entrepreneurs.
