There they were, patrolling around Ga-Nala, when three women ran away after spotting a police van.
Immediately Kriel SAPS members knew this was a case worth following.
The women from Maputo aged between 34 and 39 were arrested and charged with dealing with counterfeit goods to the value of R4 million.

On Thursday morning, March 15 when police were patrolling they saw three women who, immediately after spotting a police bakkie, ran towards the yard. Police made a u-turn to check why the women ran away.

The officials entered the yard and found the women hiding in a room.
Police then noticed a large number of black plastic bags and boxes containing counterfeit goods, such as takkies and facial creams.

The women made their first appearance at Kriel Magistrate Court on Friday, March 16. The trio remained in custody until their next appearance for a formal bail hearing on Thursday, March 22.
