Vanessa urges girls to be comfortable in their skin
In her first ever pageant she is entering, Vanessa aims to inspire young people to be comfortable in their body shape and skin colour.
Vanessa Pitsi is getting closer and closer to being Miss Eagle South Africa 2018. The 19-year-old is currently the brand ambassador of the competition. In her first ever pageant she is entering, Vanessa aims to inspire young people to be comfortable in their body shape and skin colour.

Her passion for modelling started from a tender age but due to insecurities, that dream took a back seat.
“I have always loved modelling but got discouraged due to society depicting that light skinned girls are more beautiful than dark skinned girls. Black is beautiful.”
In order to progress to the next level which is being a semi-finalist, Vanessa has to take part in various community projects and engage with the media. For that reason she has now done community work at Klarinet Community Clinic. She was at the health institution for a day and helped out at reception, did domestic work and distributed medication. She also got the honour of meeting the Minister of Mineral Resources Gwede Mantashe when he visited Klarinet Community Hall.

Vanessa encourages girls to stand out and embrace their beauty just the way they are.
“I am speaking from experience as I know how judgemental the community can be.”
With her crown she wants to create peer groups in the community to encourage girls to be comfortable in their body shapes and skin colour.
