Four community members robbed of their belongings

The three were together on the Old Middelburg Road by an auction place to view machines.

Four members of the eMalahleni community were robbed of their belongings, the worst part of their belongings being stolen is the loss of contact numbers from their cell phones.

The first incident occurred on Thursday, April 19 at 14:30 when Mr Prince Ureke alleged that he was together with Mr Kenneth Matambo and Mr Agrippa Matambo.

The three were together on the Old Middelburg Road by an auction place to view machines.

As soon as Ureke climbed out of the vehicle he noticed an unknown man standing next to his vehicle with a gun.

The suspect pulled the keys out of the ignition and told Ureke to hand over his money.

Without hesitation Ureke did as he was told and the suspects got away with the car keys, money and three cell phones.

The following incident occurred on Wednesday, April 18 at 03:00. Mr Sabelo Mabeka alleged that he was driving his truck to a local mine near Ogies.

While he was waiting to get into the mine to load some coal he noticed that the truck was surrounded by unknown people.

Mabeka counted approximately nine men standing around the truck. One of the suspects holding a firearm told Mabeka that he must open the window.

As Mabeka refused to open the driver’s door, the suspect then fired one shot at the passenger door.

Not knowing what to do next, Mabeka managed to open his door and ran into the bushes.

As Mabeka ran into the bushes, some of the suspects ran after him into the bushes, luckily he managed to hide from the suspects.

Approximately 20 minutes later when it was all quite he went back to the scene and found that the suspects had taken four of the trucks tyres.

Then on Tuesday, April 17 at 16:20 Mr Calvin Mokalapa alleged that he was driving his Mazda bakkie. The passenger that was with Mokalapa went into a shop in the Klipfontein area.

As Mokalapa waited in the car for the passenger an unknown person pointed a gun at his neck.

The suspect then took the car keys and cash from Mokalapa.

On the same day just earlier in the day at 12:30 Mr Simanga Mnisi alleged that he was at a petrol station when he was robbed of his cash and a cell phone.
