Cornfield murder case postponed due to DNA results

WITBANK NEWS reported on March 13 that a body was found in a cornfield on the R555 between Clewer and Ogies. It is believed that the body is linked to a missing person from Clewer.

On March 20, two suspects appeared in court and the ‘sangoma’ was let free because of a lack of evidence.


The cornfield which is believed to be the murder scene of the missing woman of Clewer.

The remaining suspect, Dennis Motubatse appeared in court on May 4 again after getting bail of R1500 on March 27.

As the state had no objection to keep the suspect, the case was postponed to June 19 under the same bail circumstances and for further investigation.

“We are still awaiting the DNA results and phone records,” said Cst Maluleke spokesperson from Vosman Police Station.

“We as police are asking the public to assist us with any information that will help us find more suspects regarding this case,” said Cst Maluleke.
