
Stealing a vehicle or stealing a cell phone, either way the thief will go to jail.
On May 10, a direct call to South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) Operations Director, came through from employees at a business in Model Park.
It was alleged by the business owners that an unknown male had entered the business property and grabbed a cell phone and ran off.

SACCW responders attended to the scene within minutes and gathered the information needed from the victim.

The suspect that was caught after stealing a phone on May 10.
It was also then brought to their attention that it was an iPhone that had been stolen. Using the built-in tracking device of the phone, the responders set out to the location, which was constantly changing.
“The suspect was spotted and a short chase ensued where the suspect with the stolen property was apprehended in Dahlia Street. This was an amazing team effort from all involved,” Maureen Scheepers added.
The Witbank Police were dispatched immediately after the suspect was caught and taken to the station.
