
Two businesses were robbed; one in Klarinet and the other on the Old Middelburg Road.
The first robbery took place on Friday, May 18 at 11:30 when Mr Shafouat Kayani alleged that he was busy in his hardware shop in Klarinet.
Kayani then noticed three unknown men walked into the shop and they walked to the back of the shop.
He then asked them if he could help them find what they were looking for inside the shop.
Before Kayani knew what was happening they had pulled out a firearm and they said that they wanted his money.

The suspects tied Kayani’s hands together and took him to a private room in the shop. He could not see what was happening inside the shop as he was lying down. After a few minutes everything went quite inside the shop.
Kayani managed to untie his hands and went into the shop; he noticed that the suspects managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of money and two cell phones.
The previous day another business robbery occurred on Thursday, May 17 at 02:30. Mr Augustin Kabawu alleged that he was busy doing his patrols at a well known business on the Old Middelburg Road.
While patrolling, he was approached by four unknown men who were wearing black work suits and one was armed with a firearm.
The suspects tied Kabawu’s hands together with rope; they then took two truck batteries.
Once the suspects had the batteries, they disappeared into the darkness.
