On Sunday afternoon, May 27, an accident occurred on the N4 highway by the Balmoral off-ramp.
A couple were travelling on the highway from eMalahleni direction towards Pretoria.
Somehow the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle and collided into the bridge.
The woman that was seated in the passenger side was declared dead on scene and the driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital for further treatment on his injuries.

That same evening another accident occurred on the Old Ogies Road, the R555 near the N12 on-ramp.
The accident occurred at approximately 21:15 when a white Mercedes Benz Vito rolled on the R555.

There were eight occupants inside the vehicle; they were allegedly travelling from eMalahleni to Johannesburg for some festival that they were going to attend.
Various emergency services from eMalahleni responded to the call as ambulances were needed on scene as most of the occupants sustained injuries.
When emergency services arrived on the scene, they started attending to the most critical patients as soon as possible.
All the passengers were taken to various hospitals in eMalahleni for further treatment except one, Mr Bongani Dhlamini was declared dead on scene.
