WITBANK NEWS did an article on May 11 about a shootout at Highland Mews Centre.

It later came to light that the shootout was not an armed robbery but a crime of passion after the suspect shot his wife nine times before committing suicide.

According to Mr Gavin Cooper, a paramedic from Legacy Emergency Specialists,

“Ms Patricia Malaza is doing extremely well. Her second round of surgery went very well. I went to see her last week and found her sitting upright in a recliner. The tubes have been taken out and she is talking. She was very grateful to see us again.”

The police had no update as the case is still being investigated.
