He explained that while he was growing up, pen and paper was his best friend.

“2010 was the year that I became serious about my writing,” said Vusi.

Ever since he started to write, he created a collection of 550 poems, 10 short stories and 20 songs. He said that he is still going strong and plan on adding many more to his collection.

Vusi Elmonth Mabena is a young motivational speaker and writer.

He writes mostly in English and in Zulu.

“I get my inspiration from God, my role models such as the late Dr Nelson Mandela, TD Jakes, Dr Rebecca Malope and the list goes on.”

He mostly writes about the environment, circumstances, challenges facing the youth such as alcohol and drugs, unemployment and crime.
Although he is so busy writing, Vusi still makes time to travel and to see our beautiful country.

“I have travelled to three provinces namely Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng presenting my work.”

It is his goal to reach the whole of South Africa to motivate and inspire the people of this coutry.

“I love working with people of all races and all ages”, said Vusi.

One of the biggest lessons that Vusi has learned is to never give up and to never let go of his dreams.

Vusi serving the community and spending time with children.

“It may be hard and difficult to achieve it, it might even sound like a fairytale when you tell people, but it is possible.” Vusi has a vision for the youth of this country. “I want to challenge young minds, to look into life from different angles; I want them to see the light and opportunities.”

He explains that it is possible since the youth has got what it takes for this day and age; they’ve got education, talent, skills, mentors and role models. Vusi has a dream that is yet to come true.

“My dream is to see myself one day publishing my own book, having my album of poetry and my motivational talks.”

He also wishes for his work to reach everybody, nationally and internationally. He firmly believes that nothing is impossible as long as you put your mind to it. Apart from writing and speaking, he also loves acting.

Vusi can be seen on shows such as The Queen and Generations. One of the shows that he participates in airs on SABC1 on Mondays at 10:30.

Clearly this young man has a passion for people and he will stop at nothing to make his dreams come true.
