Counselling for 14-year-old victim

Mpumalanga Department of Education spokesperson, Mr Jasper Zwane, reacted to the bullying-video that went viral.

He said the department is disturbed about the incident that took place at Duvha Combined School.

The department directed the school to institute disciplinary proceedings against the learners who are behind this in line with the school code of conduct.

“Officials from the department will visit the school to render counselling to the victim and to those affected by the incident,” he said.

Zwane said the department condemns this incident in the strongest term possible and will monitor the developments very closely.
