‘We strike because this police station is an excuse for a police station’

Members are also furious because they have to drive to Ogies

Members from the Phola Community marched to the Phola Police Station.

“It is alleged that they are striking because they feel that this police station doesn’t qualify to be a police station,” said Phola spokesperson Petros Nthuli.

On Monday, February 18 community members marched to the police station because they are unhappy about the way the police station is delivering services.

“They alleged that they are not receiving all the services that they should receive at a station and that there are a drastic shortage of resources,” spokesperson Nthuli further explained.

Members are also furious because they have to drive to Ogies about things that they are supposed to handle at the Phola Police Station.

Phola police officers managed to get the situation under control and they are now busy trying to solve all of the problems.
