Wine and wisdom makes its return

“Sue and I can never agree whether it was started in 1991 or 1993,” Mervyn van Rooyen chuckled, “but this certainly isn’t our first rodeo. I think we had our last one two or three years ago.”

Standing under the white and blue draping in Bankenveld Yacht Club’s clubhouse, it quickly became apparent that the organisers of Wine and Wisdom were old hands at being crafters of fun.

“All of tonight’s proceeds will go towards Witbank Nature Reserve, so it’s all for a good cause,” explained Mervyn.

The Dregs walked away with first prize after obtaining a score of 69, with Wakkapankas coming close second with 68 points and the Clueless, being not-so-clueless, coming third with 65 points.
