Men’s Sector gets a re-launch
Six new Men’s Sector executive members were elected into executive positions within the sector
The office of the Executive Mayor, through the Gender Desk in the Transversal Unit, re-launched the Men’s Sector.
The re-launch took place on February 7 after inviting male executive members from all the organisations operating within the Emalahleni Local Municipality.
Six new Men’s Sector executive members were elected into executive positions within the sector.
The municipal based sector seeks to advocate for men and their needs, social and economic growth and change the way men are portrayed in the community.

Executive Mayor Cllr Linah Malatjie was present at the launch. She highlighted that even though the country is for gender equality in workplaces, men will always be the leaders of households and have responsibilities.
“Men need to be gentlemen, respect and protect their families and this sector encourages that,” said Cllr Malatjie.
This time, two positions for young men were added to the executive.
Pastor Mvula Ndobe, provincial deputy chairperson of the forum, said that having young men in the forum will encourage other young men to join in the forum.
