Manage, recycle and donate
The recycled items such as files, towels, curtains and plastic containers are donated to the day care centre and they are able to put them in good use
Little Sunshine Day Care Centre in eMpumelelweni Ext 16 recently received recycled items from Ntobeng Malekane after he noticed that some of the waste he manages from Fortis Hotel can be recycled and reused.
The recycled items such as files, towels, curtains and plastic containers are donated to the day care centre and they are able to put them in good use.
Elvis Sithole, coordinator of the day care, said that with the files especially, the children can do their paintings and drawings and they can use the files to display their art.
He added they can now introduce certain DIY projects to the children with the help of the recycled items.
He mentioned that they are happy that they received help from the community.
“We do need help because we are based in the location where no one recognises us like the day centres in town,” he said.
He further emphasized that with help they can be brought to a closer level of where day care centres are in town.
They do not only receive the recycled items on the day, they also received juice and sandwiches to enjoy during the day.
