#Mr Morrison can eMalahleni help
He drove around for hours until he finally ran out of fuel and was completely stranded at the N12 offramp
On Wednesday morning at 03:00 a direct call came through on Zello to the SACCW Operations Co-ordinator from a petrol attendant at a local filling station of an elderly man that was robbed and assaulted and needed assistance.
SACCW Responder Flip Opperman went to the scene and found the 89 year old Mr Morrison at the petrol station with injuries to his arms from the robbery.
Mr Morrison who stays alone in Ext 8 had driven to Pick & Pay Klipfontein around 17:00 on Tuesday but when he was done and walked out it was already dark and he could not find his way home.
He drove around for hours until he finally ran out of fuel and was completely stranded at the N12 offramp.
After a few hours the first assailant approached him and robbed him and shortly after that three unknown men attacked him causing injuries to his arms with a knife.
They stole everything they could including his valuable documents such as his will, ID book and SASSA card.
Flip Opperman proceeded to transport Mr Morrison to his home as the sun rose and he could see where he was.
On arrival they realised that his house keys were also stolen.
Flip then saw that Mr Morrison lives alone with his pet dog Suzie.
Worst of all though was that he has been living alone in the house without any electricity for months.
He cannot cook himself meals or even take a hot bath.
At 08:00 Mursner Construction arrived at Mr Morrisons house and changed all the locks.
Solidariteit Helpende Hand arrived and consulted with Mr Morrison as well as ER24 Witbank to attend to his wounds.
He was then taken to Dr Wessels.
Everyone attended to the needs of this elderly man without hestitation.
On Friday Mr Morrison will be taken back to Dr Wessels’ practice for his wound care whereafter a cleaning crew will attend to his house.
The biggest problem Mr Morrison is currently facing is his Municipality bill that is currently standing at R10 000.

He will be able to maintain his monthly premiums as he does receive SASSA but he had fallen behind and cannot function as an 89 year old man alone without electricity.
We hereby request the community of Emalahleni to open their hearts to this specific cause and to assist us with paying his electricity bill in order for his utilities to be restored.
A special thank you to Secure Access Witbank that found the frail Mr Morrison on the side of the road and transported him to the nearest petrol station.
Thank you to Knowledge Ndebele from Total Garage Kiepersol, Trevors Towing, Mursner Construction Projects CC, Solidariteit Hulpende Hand Witbank, ER24 Witbank, Dr.Wessels and Sr Trix who all assisted to the needs of Mr Morrison yesterday and to Flip Opperman and Maureen Scheepers who made it all possible.
