Are your municipal accounts faulty?

It has been a couple of years down the line and the municipality’s financial system should have passed its teething problems.

However, consumers are still receiving faulty accounts and one should consider it lucky if the accounts are on time.

Since the implementation of the Phoenix Financial system, numerous problems surfaced and consumers are fed up with faulty accounts.

“We were double-billed for municipal services, on the same account amounts were added and subtracted. This resulted in a mumble,” said concerned resident Mr John Cornish.

His municipal account shows three different amounts for residential sewerage.

The first reading is on February 24 and an amount of R283.76 is attached.

Then the municipality has a reading on February 4 and they subtract R274.65 and then the entity adds R193.35 for a reading on February 4 again.

To make matters worse the municipal accounts were only available on March 3.
