Sandile proclaims God’s Word with his single “Lizwi”
The 29-year-old was born and bred in Ezinambeni Ext 5 and he did not grow up in a music background or a church background
The long-anticipated single of Sandile Gatsheni is closer to your ears.
The song is titled “Lizwi” and is a song of praise to God and song to uplift people.
The song is to be released on Friday, March 6 and will be available on all digital music platforms.
Sandile was inspired by Holy Bible scriptures John 1 and Genesis 1.
“God formed everything according to the Word and He is the Word,” Sandile highlighted. He said that he wrote the song in 2015 but did not have the finances to record it. “I have been performing the song since after I wrote it and finally, it is out officially.”
“Lizwi” is Sandile’s first single as a gospel musician.
“I’ve always loved gospel music since when I was in Grade 12 and have never done another genre. The love for gospel music began when I was serving at church and in the process of understanding the gift of the gospel.”
The 29-year-old was born and bred in Ezinambeni Ext 5 and he did not grow up in a music background or a church background.
“In a way, I took myself to church. No one took me there. I lead my family to church and found my gift for music on my own.”
Sandile is a great backing vocalist.
“I enjoy being a backing vocalist and I am a turner by the way. Being a backing vocalist you learn the art of being an artist which is discipline and how to work with people and different characters.”
He has backed for local gospel artists such as Mpumi Mtsweni, Njunju Skosana, Nathi Shongwe and pastor Malcolm Mbonani.
Sandile is also a pastor.
He was ordained in 2014.
As a musician and pastor, he believes that a role that needs to be played by gospel artists in eMalahleni is preaching the gospel in any form, letting people know that God is alive and they should be ready for His kingdom.
Sandile said it is his wish to release an album before the end of the year and hopefully, he will be able to do so.
He added that in the next five years, he wishes to find talented people like himself to groom.
“I don’t want to shine alone. I would like to discover the hidden talents in eMalahleni. The world needs to know about such artists and I want to shine with them.”
