Businesses still suffer at the hands of thieves

The suspects forced workers and customers in the supermarket to lie down

Two business robberies were reported on the same day, where at both incidents victims were threatened with firearms.

The incidents took place on Friday, March 13.

Three suspects targeted a supermarket in Tasbet Park at around 15:00.

The suspects forced workers and customers in the supermarket to lie down.

They instructed the cashiers at six stills to take the money from the tills; they all cooperated and the suspects took an amount of R50 000 from the store.

The other incident took place at a motor spares shop in the Central Business District (CBD) at around 16:00.

Four suspects entered the shop and started shooting.

Three of the suspects jumped over the counter and searched the place.

Thereafter, they left the store.

It is unclear what they took.

Unfortunately, suspects from both cases are unknown.

The cases were opened at Witbank Police Station.
