Water supply interruption on Wednesday in eMalahleni

The municipality has also planned additional maintenance works on the bulk water infrastructure and as a result a large portion of of eMalahleni's water supply will be affected

This serves to inform the Community of the greater Emalahleni that there will be water supply interruptions on Wednesday, October 7, from 08:00 to 20:00 due to planned maintenance by Eskom at Doornpoort Electrical substation.
The pumping of raw water from the Witbank dam to the Water Treatment plant will be affected due to the planned maintenance.
The municipality has also planned additional maintenance works on the bulk water infrastructure and as a result a large portion of of eMalahleni’s water supply will be affected.
Some of the planned maintenance works includes amongst others the following activities:
Cleaning of reservoir, repairs on the raw water supply lines at the split of N4 and N12 freeways, interconnections of bulk lines, repairs on bulk potable water supply lines, installations of isolations valves and pressure reducing valves on the system.
We therefore, advise the community and the businesses to fill up the onsite water storage facilities during this period and use water sparingly during the water shutdown.
Water tankers will only be available at strategic areas such as Schools, Clinics and Police stations.

Water supply to all areas is expected to normalize in the early hours on Saturday, October 10.
Consumers are kindly requested to utilize water sparingly during this time whilst the municipality is trying to stabilize the system.
