Sewerage problems at Mahabane Street in Lynnville

When the sewerage problems started it affected two families and for the past three weeks they had to stomach the smell and that resulting in the whole street having to stand up.

According to residents of Mahabane Street in Lynnville, it all started with sewerage at the Mabena and Sikhosana houses and the matter was reported and nothing has been done to solve the problem to date.

Ms Thabiseng Sikhosana said they had to live with the smell for the past weeks and having difficulty using their toilets.

“We reported that matter when it started, and we were told that an outside room has been built on top of the sewerage pipe, the room has been dismantled but the problem continues. This is a very unhealthy situation and it is unbearable,” said Ms Sikhosana.

It is also said that residents of the streets have decided to march to the municipality offices to voice out their anger and frustrations as the matter has been reported to the municipality without any action being taken.

Several attempts were made to contact Cllr Western Kgomo, but his phone was not answered.
