Robbers take their ‘shot’ on business
Robbers met their match when they robbed Macarena Shop in the Central Business District.

Business robbers make their mark in eMalahleni after a shooting in the Central Business District (CBD). On Wednesday, November 4 the Macarena Shop in the CBD was disrupted by three armed men.
The men entered the shop as normal customers while standing close to the till counter. At the door one of the suspects revealed his firearm and demanded money.
The owner of the shop saw what was happening and immediately took action towards the suspect at the till. During the scuffle the other two suspects revealed their firearms.
The owner and his son were both shot at and taken to ePH Hospital. The three suspects left in a red Polo Volkswagen.
Xan Coetzee, the son of the owner who was also shot, was released from hospital on Monday, November 9, he said: “Myself and my dad is currently recovering from the shooting, we please ask if anyone has any information regarding the incident or the suspects, please report to the nearest police station as quick as possible.”
On Saturday, November 7 another business robbery has occurred where three armed males entered a shop and demanded cash.
The shop does not keep cash on the premises.
The owner and workers were searched by the robbers, the robbers left the scene with two cell phones and R300 cash; no serious injuries were obtained.
