Solomon the woodworker

Solomon Maware (33) is a local woodworker who sells his woodwork creations in Universe Avenue, Reyno Ridge in front of the two water towers.

Having woodwork art in or around your home is a very popular trend. It is a craft that is not very easy and requires some artistic genes.

Woodwork has been around for years and will be for years to come.

Solomon Maware (33) is a local woodworker who sells his woodwork creations in Universe Avenue, Reyno Ridge in front of the two water towers.

He has been selling his diverse work there for 10 years.

He was born in Zimbabwe and moved years ago to South Africa for work before moving to Spring Valley.

Solomon said: “I love doing woodwork, it is my life; it keeps me driven. I can spend hours working on orders and new pieces.”

Solomon is in Universe Avenue seven times a week selling his pieces and getting new orders from nine to five.

He has a very diverse range of pieces that he can make and sell from small wooden hearts to building Wendy houses.

He is not allowed to create or do any woodwork where he is selling from.

When going home in the evenings, the real work starts. Solomon must still find time in his very busy schedule to buy wood and the accessories needed for the orders coming through.

If you are interested in wood pieces or specific items you can find Solomon in Universe Avenue or you can call or WhatsApp him on 082 351 4139.
