Some taps still dry because Anglo’s damaged pumping line

Several areas are currently experiencing low water pressure or no water supply due to low reservoir levels.

Repairs at the Witbank Dam raw water pump station has been completed and the water supply to the treatment plant has been restored however it will take time for the supply of potable water to normalise.

Point D command reservoir is currently at 10% and has a direct impact on the other reservoirs. Several areas are currently experiencing low water pressure or no water supply due to low reservoir levels.

“Anglo mine is currently offline due to a damaged pumping line and repairs are underway. Repairs are anticipated to be completed on Friday, March 12,” Mr Lebo Mofokeng Emalahleni Local Municipality  spokesperson told Witbank News

The water interruption notice indicated that water supply is anticipated to normalise by Thursday, March 11, unfortunately the recovery period is going to be extended as the mine supply is offline.
