Group pickets as murder suspect appears in court facing a charge of murder.

A 32-year-old man appeared before Witbank Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of murder.

The suspect appeared at court on Wednesday, April 14 following an incident that occurred on Wednesday, March 17, at Extension 5 in KwaGuqa.

According to the report by Vosman Police at about 14:00, the complainant, who is the victim’s mother alleged that she was from work when her neighbour reported to her that her son has stolen his wheelbarrow.

She tried to understand what happened, speaking to her son, the neighbour took out a spade from his car and charged at the victim who in turn ran away.

The neighbour, who is now a suspect in this matter, followed the victim.

The victim’s mother followed them too.

Reports indicate that the mother found the victim, her son, lying down with an open wound on his upper body and blood gashing out. The victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment where he, unfortunately, died the following day on Thursday, March 18.

The matter was reported Vosman Police on Wednesday, March 24 and the suspect was ultimately arrested on Thursday, March 25.

The Station Commander of Vosman Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu has called on the community not to allow emotions to supersede their thinking because that may lead to unprecedented violence and death.
