Family was target in shooting at Siyanqoba

The family was surprised as they did not expect such an incident as they are a peaceful family within the community of Siyanqoba.

Waking up to gunshots in the early hours of the morning is not an ideal way of waking up.

This is how the Bila family woke up in the early hours of April 30.

The family said they heard gunshots at 00:00, thinking that there was a shooting somewhere in the neighbourhood; little did they know that the shooting was actually directed at them.

The family was surprised as they did not expect such an incident as they are a peaceful family within the community of Siyanqoba.

Upon police arrival they were surprised to see that the shooting was directed at their home.

“My family and I were terrified after hearing the gunshots. We immediately called the police after hearing the gunshots,” Bila said.

Mr Bila further said that he has no enemies nor does he suspect anyone.

There were allegedly more than 30 bullet holes on the dining room window, walls and the victim’s cars. An investigation has been launched and no arrests have been made.
