Izithethe hosted an open music jam plus an exhibition

Izithethe Arts Institute as promised hosted an open music jam plus an exhibition.
The music jam and exhibition was held behind the Gateway Church in an open field.
The music jam was held on Freedom Day, Tuesday, April 27.
The event features local musicians showcasing their talents, and poets and students from the college also displaying their talents in music and dance. Local artists also sold their products like CDs and other products. Exhibitions by local artists were also displayed during the event. The event was also graced by local leaders and local business people.
Founder of the college, Ms Faith Magagula said the aim was to show the people of eMalahleni that the college can help young people to come and register at the college in order to qualify and make music or dance their future career. She also encourages parents to support their children in their studies. The institution has a recording studio and artists are welcomed to do their recordings.
Mr Lucky Sibiya from the Department of Sports, Art and Culture in his supporting statement said that they have been supporting the institution since its formation. He added to say that as a department they would always support local talent and Izithethe was making their work easy. He also encourages students to register at the college and explore their talents through music and dance.
The institution invites people interested in music to come and register for classes in order to get the necessary qualifications as the institution is accredited by the International Trinity Guildhall College and Unisa.
