Fishing is the ‘reel’ deal with Winter Bass Skins

Witbank Dam is renowned for producing big bass during winter months.

Witbank Art Lure Angling Club in conjunction with Outdoor Gas and Equipment is hosting the annual Winter Bass Skins.

This popular competition is taking place at Witbank Dam on June 19.

“Bring the family and catch some big winter bass,” invited Theuns Brecher, organiser of the competition.

The skins format allows more opportunities for everyone to hook a prize.

An entry fee of R150 per angler is payable on the day. Normal entrance fees are applicable at Maanlig Oord.

1st Skin: 08:00 – 09:30.

2nd Skin: 09:30 – 11:00.

3rd Skin: 11:00 – 12:30.

4th Skin: 12:30 – 14:00.

5th Skin: 14:00 – 15:30.

Registration will open at 06:30 at Maanlig Oord.

The captain’s meeting and live well inspection will be at 07:45.

The competition starts at 08:00 and prize giving is at 15:45.

There are prizes for the three biggest fish per skin and then prizes for the overall biggest fish in the mens, ladies and juniors divisions.
