Children marching against abuse

The children stated in their memorandum that they were marching against abuse and child trafficking.

Young children from Thola Ukunqoba Pre-School took to the streets and marched to voice out different issues to their councillor.

The children who marched were led by their teachers to hand over a memorandum to Cllr David Makgetloa on Friday, June 11.

One of the children, Angel Mokoena handed the memorandum to the councillor.

It further reads that they are asking the councillor to protect them and the young nation and future leaders of the country.

“Our hopes are on you for better protection,” ended the memorandum.

The children also raised the issue of children rights and recited verses from the bible.

In response, Cllr Makgetloa said he will pass the memorandum to the relevant stakeholders, but he further committed himself that he will make sure that they are protected.
