Man rescued after allegedly being drugged and hijacked on the old Ogies Road

Witbank SAPS is investigation a case of hijacking after a man was found unconscious in a pulled-over car.

A 61-year-old man was hospitalised after being allegedly drugged and hijacked on the R555 old Ogies Road.

On August 24, a police officer that was on duty was driving towards the Central Business District (CBD) where a Toyota Hilux with three men was driving toward Ogies.

The officer saw that the driver acted suspiciously, and he decided to follow the car.

The car stop and two suspects, one of which was driving the car, jumped out and ran away. Upon investigating, the police officer noticed that a man was left unconscious in the car.

The man, who is believed to be the owner of the car, was allegedly drugged, and he was later taken to hospital for further medical care.

No arrests have been made yet.

Any information regarding the case is requested to be reported at Witbank Police Station.
