Glencore gave a helping hand for a centre
The centre would be used as a community kitchen helping people who abuse substances
Glencore came in at the right time to help Mr Shadow Motsa to realize his dream of helping out in the community of eMalahleni.
The mining company donated a container. Glencore presented Mr Motsa with a container which he will use as the Ncedisizwe Rehabilitation Centre in KwaGuqa Extension 5.
Ms Mapule Mokoena, a Glencore official was at hand during the presentation held on Monday, September 6.
The centre would be used as a community kitchen helping people who abuse substances, providing them with soft porridge, and helping people who are abused as well.
“I will also be helping out to prevent crime in general by proving meals to people who need food because hungry people tend to steal. Community members are encouraged to donate clothes that they do not need. Apart from clothes, books can also be donated to the centre and other things are also welcome to be donated,” stated Motsa.
The centre will also be used as an aftercare for students to do their homework or for studies.
Motsa believe that he can help the students to reach their goals and studying further.
“The support of the community is important as we join our hands in fighting crime, helping our children, creating employment while empowering the community. Let’s fight the situation at our disposal, helping one another. We are planting a tree that will bear fruits in the future,” concluded Motsa.
The centre will be open from 08:00 till 18:00, Mondays to Fridays.
