Jean-Luc Tiberi (33) was flown to Milpark Hospital at 02:15 on September 21 after an accident on OR Tambo Street.

This bakkie apparently turned right in front of Jean-Luc Tiberi.

Mr Robert Tiberi, Jean-Luc’s father said his son was on his way back home after closing his business, THC Hydro Dipping, just before 19:00 on September 20.

“An Eskom bakkie was travelling from the old Middelburg Road and apparently turned right into Woltemade Street in front of Jean-Luc.”

Tiberi said the doctor told him that Jean-Luc had a little bleeding on the brain, but it is nothing to be concerned about. His cheekbone, some teeth, and leg are broken.

He is under sedation under the watchful eye of Dr Reuven Jacks, a specialist trauma surgeon.

“In times like these, you realise how many friends you have. Thank you to everyone for the calls and messages. A special thank you to Pieter Opperman who never left our side until this morning,” Tiberi said.
