Adopt one of the dogs at the local SPCA and change a life. This way you open a space for the SPCA to help another animal in need.
“We have many dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages that are looking for homes,” said Ms Liz Oberholzer volunteer at the SPCA.
“We would love you to come and visit us and possibly adopt these special fur babies,” Liz said.
Come in and view the animals. Choose the animal you are interested in. Complete an application to adopt. A home check will be done. An inspector will be sent to your property to conduct an inspection and offer advice on adopting a pet. The inspector will take note of the following:
- Condition of other pets
- Whether adequate shelter is provided
- Where the animal will sleep at night
- Size of property and height of walls
- Ensure that the property is fully enclosed
If approved, you finalise the documentation and pay the adoption fee. Adoption fees for dogs are R1 100. This includes: The home check Parvo snap test (for puppies) Microchipping Sterilization First vaccination
