Double celebration for One Touch Football Academy

Young soccer – and netball stars showed off their skills.

It was a celebration for One Touch Football Academy after they won two trophies during a soccer and netball tournament held recently.

The Push 4 Excellence Production organised soccer and netball tournament was played at the Landau sports ground on Saturday, October 23.

In soccer u.15 One Touch Football Academy beat Real United to be declared the champions and in the u.17 they beat Uthingo Stars to be crowned the champion as well.

Netball played between Mighty Eagles from Kriel and Empumelelweni team from Benicon played at the Landau sports ground on Saturday, October 23. Mighty Eagles won the encounter.

The soccer teams displayed talents and showed that the young boys need such exposure as raw talents were displayed.

Organisers said they’re trying to give even players from informal settlements a chance to display their talents as some of the teams were from Spring Valley and Kriel in the informal settlements.

Kagiso ‘KG’ Nkabinde ended up winning a sum of R600 being the best player in the u.15 and u.17.

In the girl’s team, Mighty Eagles from Kriel played the Empumelelweni team from Benicon. Mighty Eagles won the encounter to be declared the champions.

Asiphe Maboza won herself R200 as the best shooter and Sibongakonkhe Mlunga was the best player in the tournament and won herself the same prize money.

An u.15 soccer match between One Touch Football Academy and Real United played at the Landau sports ground.

The organisers of the tournament would like to extend their thanks to the sponsors for a job well done.

“The children spend almost the whole day doing something positive and they are now looking forward to the next tournament and they were encouraged to focus on their studies and to play the sport they love, soccer and netball,” said the organisers.
