Baby Box in CBD need to be relocated
The new baby box site will be in Walter Sisulu Street (Voortrekker Road).
In January 2020 WITBANK NEWS reported on the third SACCW Baby Box that had been installed at 15 Hertzog Street in the Central Business district.
The reason for placing the Baby Box in that area was to cover two large areas in order to accommodate mothers that would have needed to make use of the box.
Unfortunately, the property where the Baby Box has been installed has been sold to a new owner and this life-saving device needs to be relocated urgently.
A new site has been approved for the relocation and is not far from where the box is currently situated, so the area will still be covered should anyone need to make use of it.
The new site will be in Walter Sisulu Street (Voortrekker Road).
“I would like to thank Johan Bekker from Bekker’s Canopy that has made his business premises available to us for this important cause,” said Maureen Scheepers, founder of the Baby Box Division
The SACCW Baby Box Division is pleading with the community to assist with the funds needed to remove the box, build a wall, re-install the box and all the wiring and electrical equipment to get the box back in working order at the new site.
Anyone willing to contribute towards the relocation of the baby box can contact Maureen Scheepers on 082 565 6770.
