Shock as nine local learners emerge from Polo

The driver is only 18 years old.

An 18-year-old foreign national is appearing in Witbank Magistrate’s Court today for amongst others – overloading.

The driver transported learners to and from school in a Volkswagen Polo.

A closer inspection revealed that the driver is not even a citizen of the country and he apparently does not have a driver’s licence.

The vehicle is from Congo and has been impounded.

“Should an illegal vehicle be involved in an accident the Road Accident Fund won’t compensate the victims,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson.
