Church roof collapses, luckily no one was inside
The recent rain that might be the cause of the roof collapsing.
Neighbours heard a big bang and the next thing they saw was dust smoke going up after a church roof had collapsed.
The roof of the International Evangelical Christian Church (IECC) collapsed on Tuesday, November 23 at about 06:30.

According to Pastor Richard Nekhudzhiga the neighbours after hearing the big bang went outside and realised after seeing the dust that the roof of the church had collapsed.
“We are not sure of the real cause of the collapse but the church itself was very old and because of the rain that might be the cause. Community members have come out to help to remove the debris. We need to get a tent temporarily for the month of December and January until we get another place to worship,” explained Pastor Nekhudzhiga.
Pastor Nekhudzhiga said he has contacted the municipality and said they contact him on the way forward.
He also informed the police about the disaster.
This is the same place that the executive mayor of eMalahleni, Cllr Lihah Malatjie voted at on October 31 during a special vote.
