KwaGuqa International Arts Festival on the grove
Various arts genres will be featured in the KIAF programme.

The KwaGuqa International Arts Organisation (KIAO) is a non-profitable organisation (NPO) initiative that will be hosting the rebranding launch of the Annual KwaGuqa International Arts Festival (KIAF) in eMalahleni.
KIAF has been active for four years.
The vision is to revive the spirit of arts and culture in the city and Mpumalanga province.
“We would like to attract touring with arts, culture and heritage and create an atmosphere of performance by positive thinking through this programme by giving each artist or group a platform or opportunity to showcase their talent in different genres with no limitations. There are different genres hosted, in different venues for three consecutive days that will be full of performance and entertainment. The genres that are featured in our programme are jazz and popular music, theatre and dance, stand-up comedy, poetry and music, monologue and film. A coordinator, who is an expert in the field is appointed for every genre, that will exercise his or her duties or skills to coordinate and make the event a success, whilst providing entertainment and exposure,” reads a statement from Sibongile Mndebele KIAO secretary. The vision is for eMalahleni to celebrate the arts and have the community busy throughout the festival, with entertainment and also showcasing the talent we have with upcoming groups and for these groups to be able to work with international artists and other artists who have been exposed in their specific field, this will enable them to grow. “We would like to invite the community members of eMalahleni to join us in this exciting event and to be part of this wonderful experience in executing the vision of uniting local and international artists to explore their skills whilst providing entertainment,” added the statement.
The launch will be held on Friday, May 20 starting at 17:00 at Capellos.
