Curro’s first mini sports day with a vibe of happiness

Run, rip and tackle at the Curro Bankenveld's first mini sports day.

Curro Bankenveld held its first-ever mini sports day this past weekend and started with a sunny and bright day.

On Saturday, May 7 the air at Curro was filled with the aromas of the various food stalls, and you couldn’t help but notice all the smiles.

Both parents and players were so happy to be back on the sports fields.

350 little netball players looked beautiful in their outfits and tutus as the theme of the day was ‘ballerinas’.

They gracefully defended, scored goals with a pirouette or two, and sparkled on the netball courts.

With 350 ‘tag’ rugby players, the rugby fields were alight with cheers from the crowd.

Our town’s future Springboks ripped and ran their hearts out, they had one mission, and that was scoring a try under the poles.

“Thank you to Laerskool Klipfontein, Laerskool Panorama, Laerskool Kragbron, Laerskool Taalfees as well as Robert Carruthers School for joining us and displaying excellent sportsmanship. We are very thankful to the schools and community of Witbank for making the day a huge success,” Sharlene Doogan, head of the foundation phase from Curro concluded.
