A ‘hole’ lot of frustration leads community of Ga-Nala to fix potholes themselves
Fed up with the potholes in Ga-Nala, residents took action and started filling the potholes themselves.
Residents in Ga-Nala who have grown tired of waiting for potholes to be fixed have taken it upon themselves to fix the gaping holes in their roads.
It is not perfect, but it is the best we can do. At least it is safe to drive past the taxi rank,” Mr Dirk Grobler, proportional elected municipal councillor from the Democratic Alliance said.

The Emalahleni Local Municipality gave 264 bags of cold cure and 1 060 bags of cold cure came from donations from the community from Ga-Nala.
There are another 1 000 bags that will soon find their place in a hole. These bags of tar were contributed by Sereti Mine.

Wages to fill the potholes amount to R700 per day. Contributions from the community help with the wages.
