Coronation woman lives in fear after being shot near a local shop

Woman succumbed to a gunshot wound on her way to buy airtime.

Witbank SAPS are on the lookout for two male suspects that allegedly shot a female who was on her way to a local spaza shop near Paxton road.

It is said the victim was making her way to purchase airtime on Saturday, September 10 at around 19:30 from her local shop which is approximately seven minutes away from her house.

She noticed two males following her at a close distance.

The victim began to run as it was dark and she feared for her life.

The suspects allegedly chased after the victim, grabbed her and asked her why she was running. “I told them I am not running away from anything, but they continued being hostile towards me and that is when I heard a loud banging sound like a gun, suddenly my left thigh was numb and wet with blood and that is when I realised I had been shot at. I was immediately rushed to Witbank Hospital where I received little to no help and was later sent home.”

The victim complained she suffered severe pain from her left thigh and is seeking counselling for the trauma she experienced.
