Kriel Police apprehend drug dealer with a stash of dagga
Kriel Police have arrested a 32-year-old for possession and drug dealing in Thubelihle.
According to Kriel Police Communications Liaison Officer Constable Angel Makubu, the suspect was apprehended for dealing with substances believed to be dagga.
Makubu went on to say that the police were conducting normal stop and search operations when they received a tip-off of a man who was allegedly selling dagga at Extension 4 in Thubelihle.
“Upon arrival at the said address, police members found a man who said that he was the owner of the house. With his consent, they searched the house and discovered small-sized plastics full of dagga inside a big black plastic bag,” said Makubu.
Makubu also mentioned that the suspect is from Swaziland without legal documentation that allows him to be in the country, “We then added the charge of an illegal immigrant,” said Makubu.
The suspect appeared before Kriel Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, October 19.
On Wednesday, October 18 Kriel Police seized dagga with an estimated value of R77 900.
