Five beauties take the modelling world by storm

The models qualified for five international competitions.

Five local models caught the eye in the national round of Talent Africa, where the selection of the South African Federation team took place.

The competition took place at the beginning of October at the Etienne Rosseau Theater in Sasolburg.

The models from b-U Models participated using video entries.

The video entries are much more difficult because the judges can go back and watch any mistakes made, compared to a live entry where it happens so quickly that it doesn’t necessarily attract much attention.

Alvin Kanyani was awarded platinum for high fashion modelling, Cecilia Steyn received gold for high fashion modelling, Keila Matthee got gold for casual modelling, Starry Kanyani was awarded gold for high fashion modelling and the star of the day was Maryke Combrink who was awarded platinum for both photogenic headshot and photogenic catalogue modelling and gold for both high fashion and casual modelling.

With these achievements they have also qualified for the following international competitions where they have the opportunity to represent South Africa and display their national colours: International Performing Arts Championships in New York in June to July 2024, the International Princess Pageant in New York in June or July 2024, the Mediterranean Legends in Spain in September 2024 and Stars of the Universe, virtual and video participation in December 2024.

All the models also obtained their Mpumalanga colours for modelling.

“We are incredibly proud of these models from b-U Models South Africa that achieved the accolades,” said Karin Odendal, owner and principal of b-U Models.
